The Beneath the Waves of the Baltic Sea outdoor exhibition is on display in Helsinki, in Havis Amanda statue area until the 14th of June 2012.   The exhibition displays underwater photographs of the Baltic Sea by Jukka Nurminen.  Admission is free and the exhibition. It   is open around the clock.

Satuin olemaan lauantaina Kauppatorilla ja samalla tutustuin tähän ulkoilmanäyttellyyn. Aivan upea: 20 ennen julkaisematonta Nurmisen upeita otoksia Itämerestä, niin kesällä kuin talvella napsittuja. Kannattaa ehdottomasti käydä katsomassa! Vain 18 päivää enää tuolla.

I happened to be at Kauppatori last Saturday and I had a chance to have a look at this outdoor photography exhibition. They were superb, 20 photos that have not been shown to the public before of the Baltic Sea, taken both in summer and winter. Absolutely worth going to have a look at! It is only there for 18 more days.

Tapasin Jukka N:n viikonloppuna sukellustapahtumassa, oli mukava mahdollisuus kysellä projektista. Vuosien ajatus oli tahkottu viidessä viikossa ajatuksesta toteuskelpoiseksi. Vitriinit painavat 1200 kg kappale (jalusta täytetty hiekalla) ja ovat varustettu mm. antigraffitipinnoitteella ym. Toisaalta tuollaisia oikeasti viimeisen päälle tehtyjä kuvia ei kenellekään tule mieleen hajoittaa. Kuvia ei ole ihan "napsittu" kun kuvaussukellukset kestävät kuulemma kolmekin tuntia. Pitää mennä katsomaan toisenkin kerran, harvoin näkee noin suurikokoisina vedenalaiskuvia.
