Hei Keikki,
after the 2010 anouncement, I was asked by Hannu to consider to move the planning to 2011, because he was planning a trip to Norway already for 2010. I agreed to do so, firstly because two trips per year are for many not possible and secondly the places were already booked.
So here we go: 28.5. - 4.6. 2011 - seven (drunken?) nights in Kottages (6p per house in three rooms, kittchen equipped and prepared breakfast included), two dives per day from the boat (daytrips), 12 and 15l tanks, Nitrox, etc.

And how about YBOD divers? Do they have pure oxygen and rebreather sofnolime available?

The price would be around 450€ for diving (2/d) and overnighting. The flight should be about the same. Assuming that we have to feed ourselves during the evenings at least, I guess rougly 1000-1100€ for the total trip.
Concerning rebreathers and tech-diving. In principle the dive sites are not to deep. The challenge seems to come rather from the positioning of the ships almost upside down. Here you may need some "cavediving" techniques rather than special equippement. However, to my understanding, we have the joice of "simple diving" with the provider as described or another option would be a full lifeaboard with all the fancy tech-things available. I will contact one I had in mind and see, but here the price might be different. I would like to see, how many divers are interested to join and then - like we did for Truck - decide, which of the offers we want to take. Please spread the word and have your friends registered so we get ahead.

I got also a positive reply from a second operator, who provides full life aboard andall the support needed for our tech community. I will refine the planning and come up with some more details soon. For example, I suggest to stay one additional night from Sa to Su in Orkney to get the most out of it.

Hei Kaikki,
as announced in the forum, we will show a movie on diving in Scapa Flow. The movie was made with the support of John Thornton, one of the speerhead for technical diving in the UK, who also provides the support for the visit.
Additionally, we do have two books about the wrecks and we´ll print out some more info from the web so we can get an idea on what is available and start to think about what we would like to do - diving, yes Iknow, but maybe a bit more specific :-)).
Hope to see you tomorrow afternoon starting at 16:00h. Afterwards we can go directly to the pool for checking the materials.
We´ll also provide some drinks and snaks (makkarat).

Awesome! Not very expensive trip.
Hopefully it's not difficult with 2? different air company as we might have some over weight as usually scuba divers have. I mean we might have to pay 2-3 over weight payment. But it's not so big thing anyway ::)
